Onyx Hair Boutique is a premier salon serving guests in and around the Cary and Triangle area.
Onyx Hair Boutique has a mission to add to the beauty of the world and do it responsibly sustainably. We are exclusively a Davines salon, a professional hair care brand that produces high-end products while focusing on sustainability and their commitment to natural ingredients. Here at Onyx, we offer a variety of hair and esthetics services, and it is our goal to help your beauty radiate with confidence. We strive to provide the best environment for both our guests and staff. Our standard is to make each and every one who enters feel welcomed, heard, and beautiful.
Sue | Creative Artist
Sue graduated from Aveda in 2006 and holds a Certification in Keratin Treatments. Her
motto is “A good hair day can make anyone feel good and boost your self-esteem!”, and when
she’s behind the chair, that’s exactly how you’ll feel. Her specialties lie in Brunette Coloring and
her ability to perfect any hairstyle. Her favorite beverage is Americano coffee; and when she
isn’t slaying a final look for her clients, she’s probably somewhere enjoying the great outdoors
with her two sons, or traveling when she can.
Alexis | Creative Artist
Alexis ‘Lexie’ graduated from cosmetology school in 2016 in Upstate New York at just
17 years old! From a very young age, she was inspired to get into the field and continue her
mother’s legacy of working in the beauty industry. Her ability to help each client feel confident
and beautiful is what’s most rewarding to Lexie. When you sit in her chair, you’ll receive an
at-home hair care routine tailored to your exact hair needs, or your “Hair Diet,” as Lexie likes to
call it. She specializes in Hand Tied Weft Extensions, Vivid Colors, Red Hair, Balayage, and is
also a Brunette Specialist! Because this industry is forever growing, Lexie stays up to date on
the latest trends through Behind The Chair University, ensuring her ability to achieve every
client’s hair dreams! Her favorite beverage is iced coffee. In her free time, you can find her
spending time with family or doing fun DIY projects around the house.
Clay | Creative Artist
Clay finished Mitchell’s Academy’s Cosmetology Program in 2005. You could say that
working in the hair industry is a sort of family trait, so naturally, he felt right at home being
behind the chair. Playing his part in helping others feel better about themselves, while
simultaneously being able to express his artistic abilities is what fuels Clay as a professional. He
specializes in Blondes, Brondes, Highlights, Balayage, and Lived-In Looks! He’s well-trained
with Redken, Wella, Rusk, Framesi, Davines, and has plans to become Certified by Masters of
Balayge and Extensions soon. Outside of work, Clay is adored by his two cats, Axel and Rusty;
you’ll likely find him either watching scary movies, eating Jelly Belly jelly beans, playing his
guitar, or adding to his crystal collection!
Nadia | Creative Artist
Nadia was born in England, but raised mostly in NC. When not in the salon she's usually on an adventure with her family and her golden retriever. She loves dancing, traveling, camping, and goin to concerts.
Nadia specializes in lived-in color, textured cuts and dimensional color. she loves to give her clients hair that they can wear effortlessly. She loves educating her guests on every product she uses and how you can create the desired look at home. She's a social butterfly and will definitely keep you laughing in her chair!
Hannah | Creative Artist
Hannah completed her cosmetology education in 2019. Her love for hair started when
she was just a child, and by 16 years old she knew it would turn into her career. Customizing
colors for each client who sits in her chair is by far Hannah’s favorite part of being a stylist
because she gets to help them feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin! She
specializes in dimensional blondes and curly hair. In her free time, Hannah enjoys expanding
her knowledge by watching any and all hair content, trying out new recipes at home, and
enjoying the outdoors.
Jess | Creative Artist
Jess received their cosmetology license in 2019. In their adolescence, they discovered
their talent to create art through hair and makeup, thus starting their ‘Hairventure’, as they like to
call it. The more they learned, the more Jess’ personal growth and self-confidence soared,
inspiring Jess to share their knowledge with clients! The industry is forever evolving, and Jess’s
love for learning creates a match made in heaven. They specialize in Blondes, Vivid Colors,
Clipper Cuts, and are skilled in Long Layered Haircuts, and Design Short Haircuts. They are
trained by the American Board of Certified Haircolorists. Jess holds an Advanced Hair Coloring
Certificate through Tom Dispenza, creator of Chromastics. Outside of the salon, Jess loves
spending time with their cat Klaus, their two younger sisters, and friends; often either making
art, attending music festivals, or traveling to experience other cultures.
Joanna | Creative Artist
Joanna was born and raised in Fort Myers. For Joanna, a career in hair design is the perfect blend of creative expression, socialization, and the opportunity to help people feel good about themselves.
Joanna specializes in her color correction, color progression, and cuts. These skills combined with her ability to truly listen, a great passion for the profession and inspired dedication to creating a look you'll love earned her the "Carolina Star Award for Dedication to Accommodating Clients." She maintains her knowledge of current trends by attending hair shows and classes.
